Womenspace, a spirituality centre for women, hosted an IWD event on Sunday 7th March. Guest speaker was Wendy Flannery who has worked in Papua New Guinea, Fiji and other Pacific Islands and, more recently, was director of an NGO at the United Nations in New York. On IWD Day itself, Womenspace held a stall and presented a half-hour Women's Wellness session at a networking event organised by Women's Info Link.

Then on the following Sunday, we celebrated at Womenspace the Autumn Equinox, around the ritual of balance between light and darkness. Balloons obtained from Women's Info Link in the women's colours of green and purple helped set the colour for the theme. We finished the ritual by throwing the balloons at one another - play is needed to balance work. Some photos of the celebration are included here.
