| I am writing about the event that took place on March 9,
the Sunday after International Women's Day. I guide Sacred Circle and have
a house called 'The Green House' (a spiritual house of healing) that eleven
of us women gathered in. I spoke a little on women's issues then we started
by using sage to smudge ourselves each women in turn introducing herself.
After each introduction we welcomed one another in with the voice of the
drum and our own voices. Then I had yarn and printed out the writings you had online for the Gather the Women on the last day. We each then read a part of this holding the yarn, then passing it on until we had read all of this and the yarn that was passed on became a web joining us to one another and to all the women of the world. We then went around the circle adding our own prayers, desires and intentions. Many women spoke about the power of this ritual and how it truly helped them to connect with women of the world. Then I spoke a bit about how we are all joined together. We then drummed for women, children, men and all the world. Then I spoke of how women in India dance in the temple to wake up the Gods. Then we each put on a veil symbolizing the silence that women in parts of the world must adhere to and danced a veil dance as a prayer and our union with other women of the world. It was beautiful and powerful. We then opened the circle and gathered in the kitchen for tea, coffee, and cake sharing our stories with one another. It was an incredible gathering. We participated together in: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Thank you to you for all your sharing that week online, Megwich, Doreen No-One Holmes |
