Interpretive Touch Drawing by Deborah Koff-Chapin

Touch Drawing is a simple yet profound process. All you do is move your fingertips on paper that has been placed over a surface of paint. The resulting impressions are seen upon lifting the page. With lines coming directly from your fingertips, it is as if your soul is pouring through your hands. Many drawings can be created in a single session. Deborah has been developing and teaching Touch Drawing since she discovered it in revelatory play in 1974.

Through the immediacy of Touch Drawing, Deborah is able to visually portray both the content and energetic qualities of a lecture, poetry reading, or musical performance. All the drawings you see here were created during the Gather the Women Conference. They are available as signed, archival prints through her website, www.touchdrawing.com. Look for 'Conference Drawings'.
