Gather the Women began as a project of Women of Vision and Action (WOVA) , a nonprofit, 501c3 organization established in 1994 and dissolved in July 2004. So often when organizational leadership changes, the history of an organization and its projects is lost or distorted. This archival site was developed to preserve the rich history of the Gather the Women initiative from its inception as an idea early in 2002 through the Global Events held in March of 2004.  An archival site for WOVA has also been established.
